elegant trimmings

Amethyst stone, semi precious stones, lucky chai, metal work, bronzed metal

Hand cut red silk between bronzed evil eye bracelet

Yesterday, I was simply roaming the streets of NYC in search of perfect pants that I can't seem to find for myself because I am tall with long legs.  Therefore, it is impossible, well to find the perfect fit.

While walking along Greene St/Prince I cannot help but immediately be drawn to wonderful, handmade, crafted pieces catch my eye.  This is not your typical mass manufactured jewelry that you can find on every two persons.

The designer is Sasie Efrat (click this, it will direct you to his gallery of works).  I want to emphasize that I am particular when it comes to jewelry.  I believe it is sensible to wear items that have meaning and classic approach to it.  I get it when there's an outfit you want to spice up...
Sasie and I exchanged our classical street bargaining skills between B2C, 'twas classic', as he made note to myself.  Sasie then mentions that these items have spiritual meanings to them and he believes in spiritual purposes AND much to his surprise I was drawn to these items.

If you want to reach Sasie via email please let me know and I will provide the necessary contacts.

Faux-fur Coat

I was going through my pictures from the past year and I found an image of myself comfortably wearing my leopard print coat.

Here's an image of Anna Sui's Fall 2010 collection.  I know you may say that it is so last year, but I am all about bringing it back and accessorize and rock it.

If you are going to be wearing 'faux-fur' anyways, you better rock it bold.

Jean-Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk

This past weekend I took a trip up to Montréal. While I was there, I visited the Musée des beaux-arts de Montréal. Luckily, the Jean-Paul Gaultier exhibit was still there. The exhibition: "The Fashion World of Jean-Paul Gaultier: From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk" ran from June 17-October 2. Gaultier considers this to be a creation in its own right rather than a retrospective. The exhibit consisted of approximately 140 ensembles, mainly from the designer's couture collections, along with accessories. Created between the early 1970s-2010, these pieces have never been exhibited... Until NOW!

"I think the way people dress today is a form of artistic expression. Saint Laurent, for instance, has made great art. Art lies in the way the whole outfit is put together. Take Jean Paul Gaultier. What he does is really art"
